It comes in sheets (and trust me) after awhile, it does fill like your hefting rocks. For the past couple of years I've hung alot of it; I've taped and floated alot of it; and I've sanded it..alot. Texture too: orange peel, montery, acoustic (pop corn for you laymen), knock down, heavy splatter, old world; even the occasional old-school sand-tex. No complaints, it pays the bills. But occasionaly someone actually wants to PAINT their house. So w/out further ado, I present to you a Reck interior paint job...walls only.

Got walls?

Wow! Beautiful! I love the colors and that house isn't half bad, either. Nice work, Havic! You can paint my walls anytime.
Glad ya like it. Had to do some convincin to getem to go w/ somewhat bolder, darker colors than they at first wanted to use. I wanted to hightlite some of the architectural features of their house.
I like that chocolate brown...originally wanted to do the family room in it, but went with the green. Do have 2 chocolate walls, tho in other rooms. They're lucky, imo, they have the white trim..makes it look really nice against color. Mine's all wood, not painted and I don't like the way it looks sometimes. I've painted it white in 2 rooms, but it'd be nice to have it everywhere.
Some people have a tough time with color. Can't get my folks to do much beyond off white.
Did they seem real happy with it?
Colors do make wht trim "pop out". Woulda liked to have done the big back wall (w/ the four big windows) in the redish-brown accent color that I did the arch bump-out in, but they thought it'd be too much. was able to put that particular color in a sm alcove tho (not in pics).
They were pleased.
It's sort of interesting that you suggest colors, too. I didn't really realize that. I've had people paint for me, but not add an opinion besides the kind of paint. How does that work? When they hire you, do they know what they want or are they looking for your opinion, or do you give it anyway? That sounds funny, but you know what I mean.
Yeah, it's my way or the highway:)
I ask what color & sheen they want. if they want help on colors I will do that.If they want some serious consultation on colors I have an "in-house" licensed interior decorator (my mother). That works out well cause #1 it sounds really good & #2 she makes the consultation fee. Either way I ALWAYS strongly suggest samples are put up first & when choice is made I get them to sign off (literally) on color selections.
Well that makes sense. You didn't strike me as the interior decorator type. (No offense. Tho I'm not sure that's exactly offensive.) That's mighty handy to have your mom for that. Anyway, it did look really nice. How long have you been doing it?
That's a rather personal question don't ya think ;)
Hmm...in SA area for the last 10 yrs. Prior to that about 6 yrs (tho I was in sales for a couple ayrs in between). Got into the sheetrockin here the last 4 or 5 I guess. Done some carpentry as well but it's hard to find that kinda work (here atleast).
Lol...those kinda questions are better left for email. Oh eventually you know I'll push the envelope.
In a perfect world...what would you be doing?
In a perfect world I'd be a lunberjack..livin in the grat northwest..w/ my best girl Sal by me side...Ohhh..I'm a lumberjack and I'm ok..I sleep all nite and i work all day..
Sorry bout that. Sometimes I just burst into song.
Hmmm..I think I'd like to be a meteorologist. Or a dentist, they seem to have four day work weeks. Professional map starer-ater. Or..pro golfer. Did yall catch the Masters today btw..very excitin.
How bout you?
I did watch it. I was wishin I was down in Georgia..it's always so pretty watching the Masters.
Well, I'm quite sure I wouldn't be a lumberjack. I do like your idea of a map starer-ater. If someone had thrown me a quarter this week, I woulda been one. Got myself a new atlas. Ohhhh, yeaaaahhhh.
Gotta hit it. gn!
Actually, if I could do it all over again, I think I might look into psychiatry or being a therapist. I think I would have been good at that.
I agree; that's what I'd choose for you if I could pick cause you're a good listener.
Well that's a nice thing to say..thanks!
Cleaned out the fridge and now am off to the store for food.
That looks really good. We've done the kids rooms, but the living room is kinda scary. We have an open entrance that opens up to the second floor. It looks great, but will be terrible to paint. I don't have the ladder, skill or sprayer to paint it. (in no particular order) I'm afraid though that if I paint the LR without doing the entrance it'll look bad. I've considered giving you a call about it, but haven't yet. But great work!
Ok, truth be told, I'm a narcoleptic...which can easily be misinterpreted as decent listening skills when you're on the phone. If we spoke in person, you'd be continuously offended.
Thanks Nest. Give me a call if you got any questions. Remember, be the brush.
Any narcoleptics catch Deadliest Catch tonite?
Not yet, but I taped it. Maybe tonight before Lost. Did you like it?
It was good. Bad start for the fleet in more ways than one. Tho, oneaem is doin really well, I'll let you guess who it is (think: Terry Gilliam).
I'm 15 minutes in. My tv is oozing testosterone.
It's cool in HD..didn't have it last year.
I think it would be cool for them to do some kind of hour special on the wives/girlfriends and families of these guys. I just thought of that when the chewing tobacco guy was just talking to his wife.
Oooh...good editing during the prayer before they take off, w/ Sig on the phone.
I find it odd that Sig finds out he's not out of the woods ON THE BOAT. Hasn't he been home for 8 mos? Wouldn't you get the physical, say a month before you're supposed to leave? Think that was done for dramatic effect?
Actually, that was Phil.
Finally, you fouled somethin up!! Yeah!!!
ha! I was just about to say, I think I got his name wrong! I can't keep these guys straight.
Btw..I foul plenty up.
Can't think of anything right now, but I'm sure there's something. ;)
I wanna see D's mishap! Are ya still thinkin about postin it?
Definitely.
Hey Reck,
How was Alamo Plaza? I watched the 5 minute portion on Beck's website. I looked for you but didn't see you.
