The Southern Lights

It's that time a year again. A time to crawl through the attic; a time to dig through containers; a time to curse under your breath when the strand a lites you just cked prior to hangin suddenly go out once hung. Yes, it's time for Christmas decorations.

Next year, we go all out.

"Next year.." ha!

Wow, it looks so great! I've always that was cool when people did the trunks of the trees like that.

Woodstock!

You have some great stuff there..the train, the bears, etc. Santa definitely threw up on your house. It's awesome.

Thanks.
Still lookin for a new Santa (our old one broke). And, I'd like a decent lookin nativity scene). Next yr..next yr.

I know, I know. I have to dig stuff out still.

I didn't even notice you were sans Santa. Do you have an audio recording of "Merry Christmas!" blasting at all times? I think you should...that would be an excellent finishing touch.

Oh, don't forget picks tonight, eh?

Great idea, I'll look for one. Ever seen those houses that have lights and music synchronized (thank you sp-ck!)? Pretty cool.

Yes, the sur pics. We'll havem before show time.

Yeah, I've seen videos of the lights/music thing. Very neat. When my brother was single for those 6 yrs or so, he didn't do any decs for holidays (and didn't even give out candy on Halloween). Not a wreath on the door. Real scrooge like. So one year I was tryin to get him to pay one of those companies to come out at Christmas to totally over the top pimp out his house to freak out the neighbors. I thought that would be hilarious.

Did he do it?

Our neighborhood lost two good deco houses (they moved). Not as many lights so far this yr period. Wasn't as much Halloween stuff either.

There's two houses in another neighborhood not far from here that are really cool. I;ll try and get some pics; it's very impressive.

No, he didn't do it. Party pooper.

Alright, I'm gonna go downstairs and see what I can rustle up for Christmas decs.

Actually I looked back at my last 3 yrs of calendars (oh I save em) and this is the weekend we typically get the tree and do lights. So really I'm on track...it's just that some people in warm climates enjoy spending their evenings out doors, and while they're out there, they may as well string lights.

I did light the mantle and put up the stockings today. I cut sprigs off the pine tree and put em in the lights...fun. I'll post a pic when we do trees. When do you put yours up?

"I cut sprigs off the pine tree and put em in the lights"
What a great idea!

We're gettin ours this sat after work. S startin to put out inside decos manana, ya know, when she's not enjoyn the great outdoors.

Actually we're gonna get a freeze tonite. Yeah, hold your enthusiasm.

Linda said...

Lol..I really MEAN that enthusiasm! I want you to have varying degrees in temperature..I think it's important. (Why do I feel like Deepak Chopra?) Even tho you live on the equator, I want you to have cooler temps for something different. If I were a prayin gal, I'd pray for y'all to get snow.

Ok, no I wouldn't. I'd use that time more wisely.

You're encourageable.

Gosh do I love learning stuff. The word I've used forever shouldn't be 'encourageable', but 'incorrigible'. Totally different word. Amazing when I look stuff up.

You may have some Archie Bunker in you :)

Linda said...

Yeah well I don't think you're home's really protected by Brinks.
