Since my mother's work load prevented her from puttin in alotta time w/ preparin this yrs Thanksgiving dinner, my grandma stepped up and made the save. Tho mom's homemade cranberry sauce was terrific.

Unfortunately the boy had to work
and missed the festivities.

When we arrived
dinner was cookin.

We brought the pies.

The spread.
Pre-gorge.

Great pics! Yeah, little S has her chin resting in her hands in both pics. Probably a sign of how she's feelin. I'm thinking, 'just gimme some rolls and let's go'. :)
You guys do desert right! That looks so good. Hey! Where's the picture of the turkey? Did you wimp out on me?
Wow, workin on Thanksgiving..poor kid. I see you wore pants for the occasion. You look great, btw. Good job!
NOW we're leavin. Have a good weekend..hope the small tyke's feelin better.
(funny post title!)
You win, the bird was alittle dry (plus grandma started slicin that sucker up before I could take a pic). That and I was supposed to take pics a food after it was uncovered *she's a fiend for warm food), but got distracted by the...well..food :) BUT, I'd put her dressin up against anybodys stuffin. It's so good you can eat it cold outta the box (which I'm doin right now).
Yeah, thought a you when they started handin me the tupperware.
She's not feelin so good; headin to the doc manana. Lookin alot like strep throat.
Yall have fun up there!
Alright, in the pic with everyone at the table, there's a tree out the window that looks like it's coming out of a garage of sorts. What's up with that?
You know us Texans...just build around the d*mn tree!
Actually my mother has a garden home so the neighbors exterior wall is the "fence line" on that side. Guessin they like the tree.
Ok, I don't know what you mean by "garden home", but I guess I get it.
Garden homes tend to be smaller, tho her's is fairly lrg. Usually the houses next door (on both sides) act as a fence, while you do have a back fence. The back yards are typically sm. She's gotta lotta trees, which is nice, and a deck that wraps around a side and back of the "house".
I'd tell ya to google it but garden home is googless.
Now I do get it. I think the tree's cool.
I wonder if that garden party Ricky Nelson went to was at a garden home. I'll betcha it was!
Thought For The Day
"If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and will heal their land."
2 Chronicles 7:14
Now that's the kinda stimulus package I'm lookin for.
Thought For The Day
"I need to be reminded of what is true. God's Word gives me a dose of reality. There is right and wrong; consequences for making wrong choices; the Ten Commandments are still the standard for life; I am not to repay evil for evil...My morning briefing in the Word gives a perspective that I don't get in the world. I need God's commentary on my life every day. A Christian...in this society is swimming upstream. Without the constant nutrition of the Word, he will soon tire and be dragged off by the sheer force of the current."
Steve Farrar from "Point Man"
Stan would have a field day w/ "God's word gives me a dose of reality". Not sure if he'd use 'strawman', 'red herring' or *ASTERISKS*, but he'd have a field day.
We're all swimming upstream. Too bad I'm missing a chip.
Right. The difference tho is I got flippers.
Ya think I don't want flippers? Flippers would be great. But they're not something you can just go out and get. You need feet for flippers and I'm missing mine.
(ok, that was reeeallly out there, but I think you get it.)
You have feet.
Alright I may have feet but they're severely deformed from birth and I've yet to find a flipper to fit my freakish feet.
I got news for ya, e1's feet are deformed at birth.
Jesus said, " No one is good-except God alone."
Ever read Footprints In The Sand?
I tried...it made me too emotional because my footprints in the sand aren't normal because of my strange "feet", if you can even call em that.
No, I think I have, I just can't remember. Has somethin to do with the beach, right? :)
Footprints in the Sand
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"
The Lord replied,
"The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you."
Mary Stevenson
Oh yeah, I think I saw that on a blanket once.
You did notice that it starts out "One night I dreamed..", right?
Ok, ok, I'm bein mean. It's nice, it is.
Actually, God has spoken to people in dreams (and still may for that matter).
Not sure if Deepak agrees w/ that.
Speakin a "alternative" religions, had a visit (when I came home for lunch) from my Jehovah's Witnesses guys. I felt bad, about 10 mins in I start askin him (the main dude) about Mormons. We get both here and I got confused.
This time he went into Revelations (which is deep to say the least). We had a good convo tho, nice fella. When he comes by again (oh, he will; this was the fifth or sixth time in last couple a months) I'm gonna invite him to our church. THAT should be interestn.
