And in return,
he left us these.

Then it was off to Grandma's for dinner, and of course, more presents.

Ohhhh...yeah,

Twas a good Christmas

Who Do They Say I Am?

"One Solitary Life" by Dr James Allan Francis

Here is a man who was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman. He grew up in another village. He worked in a carpenter shop until He was thirty. Then for three years He was an itinerant preacher.

He never owned a home. He never wrote a book. He never held an office. He never had a family. He never went to college. He never put His foot inside a big city. He never traveled two hundred miles from the place He was born. He never did one of the things that usually accompany greatness. He had no credentials but Himself...

While still a young man, the tide of popular opinion turned against him. His friends ran away. One of them denied Him. He was turned over to His enemies. He went through the mockery of a trial. He was nailed upon a cross between two thieves. While He was dying His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had on earth – His coat. When He was dead, He was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend.

Nineteen long centuries have come and gone, and today He is a centerpiece of the human race and leader of the column of progress.

I am far within the mark when I say that all the armies that ever marched, all the navies that were ever built; all the parliaments that ever sat and all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man upon this earth as powerfully as has that one solitary life.

It Takes A Christmas Village

For the last few years, like many others, we set-up our Christmas village; in hope of catching a glimpse of a time more innocent. And in each of these years the village has grown, and us along w/ it.

Scaled Back

In order to keep pace w/ the trend sittin blog, "Alien To Me", who single-handedly set the precedent for fish tank posts, I proudly present Havic's cleanin fish bowl...in E minor.

First we hadta drain approx 25%
of the dirty tank water; then catch
those quick little suckers.

We took it on advice that this
stuff might come in handy. Then,
our fish were carefully placed back
in there clean, "conditioned" tank.

The cleanin job passed muster w/ Yoda
and the fish seemed pleased. Notice our
newest addition, Gary, clingin to the side.

All seems well now w/ our tank. The problem of water leakage bein solved by replacin the 10 gal pump & filter w/ an appropriate 5 gal one.

The Southern Lights

It's that time a year again. A time to crawl through the attic; a time to dig through containers; a time to curse under your breath when the strand a lites you just cked prior to hangin suddenly go out once hung. Yes, it's time for Christmas decorations.

Next year, we go all out.
