Pumpkin Schmumpkin

One of the great Halloween traditions is
jack-o-latern makin. And w/ all of the new
carvin tools
(scrapers that actually fit inside,
different sized mini saws, traceable pics) ending
up w/ a sharp lookin pumpkin is now a real
possibility. So, goodbye kitchen knives and big
spoons...hello carpel tunnel syndrome!

The youngest's

Fright Night

The youngest, who turned 10 last week, wanted to go to Fright Night at Fiesta Texas for her birthday. Since we weren't able to go last weekend, the girls and I hit it yesterday (the boy had to work, poor boy).

Her first roller coaster
ride, The Boomerang.

Oh yeah...there
were tomb stones.

We walked away from
the game area w/ these
"prizes" for the bargain
rate of around sixty bucks.

Tired and hungry
we stopped to get
a bite on the way home...

At Jim's...
Yeah Jim's!

Grill Baby Grill !!

On Wednesday nites we usually head to church to feed our souls. Not tonite tho. Instead, we put our grill on.

The wife did the prep work.

And the youngest
put it all together.

Meanwhile, the cats
and dogs chilled.

A nice cool front

...and we enjoyed
a tasty healthy meal.

Havic Home

Tit for tat I say. So to keep pace w/ my fave blog, Alien To Me, thought I'd post some pics of the ol homestead.

The Scratchin Post

Today we took a trip to wanna my favorite haunts...Costco. While the free samples were rather sparse for a saturday (usually it's like a small buffet) the deals were, as always, quite plentiful. The best deal of all was the scratchin post tower we picked up for our cats. If you've ever priced these suckers you know they are very..well..pricey. But not today. Ahhh...Costco.

The inspection begins.

Soon Yoda & Houdini
feel right at home w/ it.

And a bit protective
of their newest toy.

In celebration we fired up the ol
grill (like I need an excuse).

Bobo grabbed me some wood...

...and we got the
thing smokin.

The girls pitched in by...uh..
playin the Wii.

Eventually, this caught their attention.

And they brought the games outside.
Pavement Pictionary anyone?

I was little help w/ the game tho;

not w/ Palin (literally)
on my brain.

Then the sun set and we ate.
Ahh...good times..good times.
