Note to self...no more moth threads.

Try a silk thread. I noticed a headline today saying that a new high speed train is gonna reopen the old Silk Highway in China.

RecknHavic said...

"Try a silk thread"

Ok, that was funny and a darn good segue into the train thing.

> Proud member of the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy

Whilst it's one of the most honest things you've ever said, are you really still so proud of it????

Stan Rosenthal said...

Reck, I've really been into the train thing recently. There's all kinds of great videos (the best usually being videos from the locomotive cabs) out there on the net ...

RecknHavic said...

Yeah, trains are cool. My grandad worked for Southern Pacific for 30 sum-odd yrs. I'll look for the engine vids.

RecknHavic said...

And yes, I'm a darn proud right-winger!

Stan Rosenthal said...

Even though your "vast right-wing conspiracy" (Sec. Clinton) is (and (they are) has been(s) advocating the overthrow of the United States government.

Stan Rosenthal said...

hint: torrents

> My grandad worked for Southern Pacific for 30 sum-odd yrs.

Then you'll probably really appreciate some of the Indian (as in India) railway videos and documentary's out there.

RecknHavic said...

Nothin says good times like Indian (as in India) railway videos!

Stan,

Conservatives are not advocating the overthrow of the US Government. We are advocating a peaceful transition back to first principles, ie The Constitution. If, however, the government does not respect its authority as outlined specifically in Articles one and two of the Constitution, I would support secession from the Union by the great State of Texas.

Linda said...

That is the biggest moth I've ever seen. I know, I know..everything's bigger in Texas, but c'mon. That's not right.

RecknHavic said...

He was a hefty fella. Camped out in that breezeway for about 5 days. Then i wasn't there for several days due too my back and now he's gone. I'm assumin he went lookin for me.

RecknHavic said...

I agree w/ Nest, tho we haven't reached that point yet. But, if the US goes the way of Europe, controlled by the Social Democrats, i say we break away.

Bullsh*t.

Stan Rosenthal said...

Linda @ April 3, 2010 3:05 PM,

You should see some of our cockroaches. :-)

Nestor said...

Happy Easter Senor Havic!

Nestor said...

Stan,

You advocated the impeachment of Bush for the entire time I've known you and surely before that. I haven't advocated for the impeachment of Obama even though his presidency makes Jimmy Carter's look like George Washington's. The only time I was considering making a push for impeachment was when "deem and pass" was being thrown around, and he never went through with it. So sorry, I'm not and conservatives are not pushing for the overthrow of the government. In November, sanity will be restored to Washington, I just hope Obama doesn't screw America up too much between now and then.

Linda said...

Stan> You should see some of our cockroaches. :-)

Booking my flight as we speak...

RecknHavic said...

Stan,

You're in *DENIAL* and fortunately you're also in the minority (politically speakin) which Brown's victory in Mass foreshadowed and the Nov election will ratify.

Stan Rosenthal said...

Nestor -
> You advocated the impeachment of Bush ...

For his destroying the US government.

It's our only recourse to *SAVE* the US government.

RecknHavic said...

Unlike my liberal friend (and I'm bein generous w/ the word liberal here)I'm not in favor of impeachin our socialist prez. He was fairly elected and come 2012 he'll be fairly voted out.

Nestor said...

Reck,

Once he does something illegal or immoral I will be all for it. Joe Biden in my opinion has qualified for his mis-demeanors. He is not dignified enough to be Vice President. Perhaps we should have took him at his word when he said,

"Make no mistake about this, Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Let’s get that straight. She’s a truly close personal friend, she is qualified to be president of the United States of America, she’s easily qualified to be vice president of the United States of America, and quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me."

RecknHavic said...

Nest,

You'd hafta be more specific on the "moral" misdead; however, if he (BO) were to do somethin grossly negligent or illegal (somethin beyond an affair and lying about it) I'm sure I'd take a close look at impeachment.

There is a silver linin to all this socialist cr*p tho, the Silent Majority has woken up!

btw, thinkn bout goin to a Tea Party protest April 15th; interested?

Stan Rosenthal said...

The "silent majority" are those that whine "socialism" (as if that's a bad thing)????

You're only changing the words that you're whining (except that you're also continuing to whine the words that you've whined all along (like "communism".))

Ya'll are not at all silent, and pretending to be silent when you're not, is bearing false witness against yourselves.

Nestor said...

Stan,

You just don't get it. I hope that some day the scales will fall off of your eyes. But to explain "the silent majority" to you will be an exercise in futility.

RecknHavic said...

Stan *WHINES*:

"Ya'll are not at all silent"

Darn straight. And come Nov the noise we're gonna make is gonna be palpable.

Nestor said...

Reck,

I haven't even looked at tea parties yet. I'm definitely interested, but I won't be able to go to SA. We're going to KC that weekend, and Carmen will be leaving Thursday evening. I've got an event for the History Society Saturday AM, so I'll be flying up Sat afternoon, but Carmen will be taking our vehicle. Let me check some stuff out, and I'll see what I can do.

RecknHavic said...

Cool, let me know. I've never been to one myself and I'm thinkn (since is so loosely organized) that there's differences between each tea Party deal. I'd imagine that the common denominator is less govt.

Couldn't find an event in SA that day btw, so we may go to the one in Marble Falls on the 15th (thurs).

Stan Rosenthal said...

And I'm sure you'll use government/socialist roads to travel on to get to Marble Falls.

And if you get in a wreck, it'll be government/socialist rescue crews that will come to your aid.

And you won't refuse the aid.

Nestor said...

Newt will be in Austin at the Doubletree Hotel just north of 290 on the I-35 access road (next to Pappadeaux's) on Thursday. There will also be a protest at MacArthur Park in SA that day as well. Check out Tea Party Patriots for info. I need to figure out what I'm gonna do about transportation for Friday and Saturday plus get my van road-trip ready by Thursday. Those are my pressing issues right now. Once I have that figured, I'll see if we can meet up. Big question is, do I wear my No Che shirt or my Don't Tread on Me shirt?

Nestor said...

Stan,

Are you really this ignorant or do you say stupid stuff to try to get under our skin? For Roads and Emergency Services, read the Constitution, especially the 10th Amendment and Article 1. Sec. 9 and the Interstate Commerce Act of 1877. These will give you all the information you need to know on the rights of the Local, State and Federal Government roles concerning Roads and Emergency Services, if you have any common sense.

Stan Rosenthal said...

Y don't you give us a quote of what it is, if you think you have a point in response.

Nestor said...

From Art. 1 Sec. 9, US Constitution:

"No Preference shall be given by any Regulation of Commerce or Revenue to the Ports of one State over those of another: nor shall Vessels bound to, or from, one State, be obliged to enter, clear, or pay Duties in another."

10th Amendment:

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people"

I can't put up the entire Interstate Commerce Act, but don't worry, unlike the 2700 page healthcare bill, it's only about 5 pages.

Stan Rosenthal said...

Everything you quoted mentions "government" (socialist government.)

Even the part where you said "the people" ("We the people ... ").

Nestor said...

Stan said,
"Everything you quoted mentions "government" (socialist government.)"

You infer by this statement that all government is socialist. That may be one of the dumbest comments you've ever made, and that's saying a lot. I won't waste any more time discussing this with you since you either don't care or are too stupid to understand. Your comments on this subject go beyond ignorance and into stupidity.

Stan Rosenthal said...

Nestor -

> You infer by this statement that all government is socialist. ...

No silly, I'm pointing out that *YOU* infer that all government is socialist.

Reck, I recommend you reviewing the video at the top of my 'Let Them Eat Fake' thread on my blog.
